La Casita’s has appointed architects to design a 40,000 litre capacity winery that will be scalable to meet an increased future production of around 80,000 litres.

The site is in the characterful village of Trabanca. which has benefitted recently from EU funds to restore many of its stone structures and also to establish itself as a tourism and festival centre for Arribes. The village is presided over by a pro-active Mayor, who along with his administrative team have been extremely supportive in encouraging La Casita to base its operations there.

We are also researching the possible benefits of power generation from solar panels as low interest long-term government loans, in addition to a guranteed fixed price given to 'green' energy producers, makes these an attractive supplimental power supply.

Designed from the outset for the production of quality red wine, the winery will be equipped with both oak and stainless steel fermentation tanks and will accommodate thermally insulated barrel maturation and a selling point to meet tourist demand. The winery facade will be made in the style of the local stone walls and so will compliment and blend in with the surrounding historic architecture.
